Laptop restarts during xp installation
Hi. I had formatted my entire laptop, because i come across some trojan horse on my computer. as i used my laptop to search over the internet.
I had Duel booted vista and XP so therefor am trying to do it again.
I have tried out every possible alternative but now its not working with the CD.
I have XP installed fine. I have 80gb free space. i run Vista (burned copy which has worked perfectly before) it goes to the bluescreen for formatting options ect. i do a full ntfs format on the unpartitioned space
Without giving any warning or any error message the computer restarts, and does this every time and roughly the same time.
Any suggestions?
Re: Laptop restarts during xp installation
XP and Vista are NOT equal systems with mutual knowledge of co-existence.
XP evolved first, VISTA evolved later.
XP did not know VISTA was coming.
VISTA expects XP to be there.
You install XP first. Vista next. Always. Vista mangoes the dual boot process. Yes, even if XP is on the first partition, VISTA runs the show.
After you get it fixed. use a suitable tool to make a image of the dual installation and keep it in a safe place.
Re: Laptop restarts during xp installation
Have you tried safe mode.
To get to safe mode use the F8 key while booting the machine.I will recommend you to go for safe mode, then try for all other options.
If this wasn't worked then, I think some of your hardware is not properly installed ... remove any modems or LAN cards or other hardware and then start your PC ... does the same error occur again ??? can you give us a glimpse of the error you get ?
