[Vista] Laptop hangs in sleep mode
Hello,
I recently got a very annoying problem with Vista sleep mode ...
When I close my laptop cover, it normally goes to sleep. But if I then click a button to press it back from sleep to get out, then I hear it go back in force (fan starts turning, hard disk, and such shooting back in action, ..) but my screen just remains black .. :S
Someone has any idea that what this could be? Previously everything was perfect, and suddenly I have this annoying problem ..
Specs of my laptop:
Vista Ultimate 32-bit SP1
Intel Core2Duo T9500 @ 2.60 GHz
NVidea Geforce 8600M GS
4GB RAM
Re: [Vista] Laptop hangs in sleep mode
Did you happen to install new drivers? It seems that your video card can not fully deal with the sleep and after the activation screen on. If you know the brightness of your screen changes after sleep mode (fn + key), or is your screen changes again?

once perform a disk clean up and junk file cleaner and check the sleep options at power management....
Re: [Vista] Laptop hangs in sleep mode
These issues are usually resolved through a series of updates.
Most notably in order
1. BIOS Update (changes the hardware code to fix problems)
2. Updates from HP (on a software coding level)
3. Windows Updates
Please go to the HP Website and input the exact model of your laptop and then find the downloads section and see if there is any information that would address your issue.
If you decide to perform a BIOS Update, it is very critical you follow the instructions on the page offering the download. Faliure to follow these directions can render your computer completely inoperable and it may be impossible to recover from a bad flash.
