Router problems after using Wifi Defense software
I got the WiFi Defense software and installed it. The software worked fine with my netgear router initially in the sense that it could communicate with my router properly. But the block function was not working. After some time, I could not even configure my router. If I try to do some configuration like adding the MAC address to the filter list or such things, the router would hang. Anybody has a solution for this?
Re: Router problems after using Wifi Defense software
From where did you get this Wifi defense software? Did you download it free from somewhere? It might be that the downloading source was not good and thats why you are getting these problems with our router. Try with other Wifi Defense software instead.
Re: Router problems after using Wifi Defense software
Can you recommend a good Wifi defense software and probably the link for downloading it? This software I had got from my friend. I dont know from did he get it. I guess he might have downloaded it from net. So it can be that the software is not good.
Re: Router problems after using Wifi Defense software
There are thousands of Wifi defense software on the net available but I cannot suggest you one because I personally have never used any such software. Maybe you can search on search engine for the better one or ask your friends who might have used any such software and they can give you better review about that.
Re: Router problems after using Wifi Defense software
Now I borrowed another spare router from my friend and tried to test this software on it. However it is giving more problems than earlier one. It could not even communicate with this Linksys router. And now, the router is not even able to get the IP from my ISP. What is this!! I think the software is crap :frusty:
Re: Router problems after using Wifi Defense software
Restart your other and other devices with it. Now go to CMD and try ipconfig /release and the ipconfig /renew. If that doesn't work, flush the DNS and see if your router can get the IP from ISP.
And yes, it seems that the Wifi Defense software you got is not good.
