why everytime I have to restart my sys to use internet?
hi to all....iam a new member...i hope tht i will get solution here...
i have cable internet........for some minutes my net will be ok..i mean it will recieve & sent packets...afterwards it stops recieving packets....if i ping it says 'request timed out'......then i have to restart my sys....then my net works normally for sometime...& again it will not recieve..i have to restart atleast 5 times in 5 minutes period....plz help me

First of all, do you have the latest version of the firmware? I'm not sure if it would fix the problem but its worth a shot if you don't have the latest version. Also, do you reset the modem and the router when you lose connectivity.

Try checking advanced power options in BIOS... You may have LAN or Modem functions enabled in that area, so disable. It is possible this could cause a spontaneous reboot.

I was having same kind of issue, i conacted with linksys technical support center and they waisted my 3 days, and problem didn't resolved. abd finally i replaced my router and since i'm not facing this type of issue. So i'm sure that problem is your router.

One of the common causes of loss of internet with cable is the firewall blocking one of the icmp protocols. Or look in your connection settings/properties for something that tells it how long to stay active.
If that all is correct than try uninstalling your modem, then reboot.
