Hello,
I have problems playing Interplay's Carmageddon 1 on my pc. I have a P4 with 2.8ghz and 256 mb ram installed in my pc. The game install's fine and runs on my pc also but the problem is that all screen looks choppy and also sound skips. I know that I have a very low memory installed but I think that this game can be played with my configuration. So can anyone help me. Thank you
Heres what you do:
1. MagicISO (This is what I used but there are other programs that do the same thing)
2. Make an image file (.ISO) file of CARMAGEDDON CD
Now time to install Carmageddon onto you computer:
1. Open INSTALL.EXE
2. Go threw the process of installing Carmageddon
Sidenote:
I installed Carmageddon to C:\DOSGAMES\CARMAGED
3. Run SNDSETUP.EXE
4. Go threw and find the right sound set up.
Mine was:
-Select Digital
-Sound Blaster
-Port: 220
-DMA: 1
-IRQ: 5
now you have your .ISO of Carmageddon + Installed Carmageddon!
Ready to play it with DOSBox?!?
1. Run DOSBox v0.72
2. Type: IMGMOUNT D C:\DOSGAMES\ISO\CARMA.ISO -T iso
Sidenote:
MY .ISO of Carmageddon is in in that folder. RENAME to where ever your Carmageddon .ISO is.
3. Type: MOUNT C C:\DOSGAMES
Sidenote:
I Installed Carmageddon into MY DOSGAMES Folder. RENAME to whatever directory you have the game saved into.
4. Type: C:
Type: CD CARMAGED
Sidenote:
I installed Carmageddon to C:\DOSGAMES\CARMAGED. change it to wherever you installed Carmageddon to.
Type: CARMA
There ya go!
Download XP FIX.EXE (http://www.visualtour.com/downloads/default.asp) See if that helps.
Don't worry about it guys....I got this game to run on my home computer which uses windows 98 and it runs great. I'm not worried about running on windows xp because it's too complilcated. Thanks anyway.
