Can anyone help in deleting those file permanently...???
Re: deleting file from Vista not working
You're the administrator, but you're just not "Admin enough" for UAC in Vista. I
think that you'll be able to delete the files if you make sure you take
proper permissions of the folder they're in. Right Click>properties>security
tab> and take permission of the folder.
Re: deleting file from Vista not working
I have done it before,
Can you attach the hdd in another (non vista) pc, and deleting all the files that way, might work as the security options on other OS is not as good.
Re: deleting file from Vista not working
Try this. Right-click Command Prompt, and choose Run as Administrator.
Type the following command, and then press
ENTER:
takeown /f Path_And_File_Name
For example, type:
takeown /f C:\Users\You\Downloads\unwanted.mp3
Type the following command, and then press ENTER to grant
administrators full access to the file:
icacls Path_And_File_Name /GRANT ADMINISTRATORS:F
For example, type:
icacls C:\Users\You\Downloads\unwanted.mp3 /grant administrators:F
Then try to delete unwanted.mp3.
If that doesn't work, try to delete the file in Safe Mode.
Re: deleting file from Vista not working
Download this scan for malware and then install (double click on the file named InstallOwnership.reg). Now you will have on your right click menu a take ownership selection. Right click on the file you want to delete and select Take ownership and then delete.
