Error Microsoft (C) Register Server stopped working
Whenever i try to run the computer, I get a POP message is shown after logging in the account. The message says "Microsoft (C) Register Server has stopped working. A problem caused the application to stop working correctly. Windows will notify you if a solution is available".
Then i close the message & it goes away but i have to do this every time when i login.
I use Vista in my computer.
PLEASE HELP....!
Re: Error Microsoft (C) Register Server stopped working
You can reboot to safe mode and remove recently installed softwares and try
again. If not working, you can boot to Last Known Good Configuration.
Otherwise you may need to test your memory to make sure it is working and
working with your mainboard well, and perform a system restore or system
recovery, or virus scan or a reinstallation of your Vista.
Re: Error Microsoft (C) Register Server stopped working
This might be helpful
1. Go to Start Menu
2. Choose Computer Properties
3. From Tab menu choose Advanced and than Performance - > Settings and
then Data Execution Prevention.
4. Select "Turn On DEP for all programs and services except those I select"
and press button "Add..." and you need to find "Regsvr32" and add it.
5. Check the box and press OK.
6. Try "regsvr32" from "cmd".
Re: Error Microsoft (C) Register Server stopped working
Are you running regsvr32 from an elevated command prompt or just from a
run/search box? You need elevated privileges to register a .dll or .ocx file
with the system.
Re: Error Microsoft (C) Register Server stopped working
This will definitely Help you....!
Step 1: Go to Start, Control Panel and click on System.
Step 2: Now click on the Advanced tab and under Performance, click on Settings.
Step 3: Click on Data Execution Prevention and select the Turn on DEP for all programs and services except for those I select: radio button.
Step 4: Now click the Add button and browse to C:\Windows\System32 and choose the regsvr32.exe file. When you get the message stating it could make your computer become unprotected and vulnerable to attacks, just click OK to continue.
Click OK and then click OK again to exit. Now try to run the regsvr32 command again from the command line and you should hopefully not get this error!
If you do, post a comment and I’ll try to help!
Re: Error Microsoft (C) Register Server stopped working
I tried it all, and there is no joy here.
I tried running the installation program that failed (numerous times) as Administrator, also did not help.
I did not reboot after making the DEP change, should I have done so?
Also, since I really don't care one iota for the whole DEP concept, what should I expect if I disable it for ALL programs and run like I'm on XP or 98?
I am running Vista Business SP-1 on 3.gHz P-IV, 1 gb memory, nothing fancy.
I'm new on this board, so if my question is repetitive, please forgive this newbie...
