Cannot clean-install Windows 7
I am facing some issues while doing an installation.
The problems are as follows:
- I have DVD for Windows 7 but when i keep it for installation DVD does not boot.
- I have somehow manage to make an installation but it does not allow to format my harddrive partition.
I don't know what goes wrong...
it also gives me an error message suggesting that "press any key to boot from cd/dvd" promt during startup.Though i have set up my DVD-ROM to primary in boot-prio.
Thanks for your support..
Re: Cannot clean-install Windows 7
Your computer would not be suitable for Windows 7. Installing Windows XP would be your best choice. What processor you are having..have you check the system compatibility before installing windows 7.

* Gainward Radeon HD 4870 512 MB Golden Sample Edition
* Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550
* Asus P5E

* Corsair HX - 520W
* Pioneer DVR-216 - black
* Logitech G15 + Refresh G9 Laser Mouse
* Logitech X-530 Refresh
* Cooler Master X-Craft 360 USB & e-SATA (black)
what is your suggestion whether this will do for windows 7 installation
Re: Cannot clean-install Windows 7
I did something similar on my HP mini Note. I had XP on it, so instead of getting an external CD drive i copied the 7 installation stuff to a usb drive, launched setup.exe and it worked a treat!
It even remembered where the files were "housed" during reboots which surprised me a little.
Re: Cannot clean-install Windows 7
I rarely deal with creating partitions so i don't know all the information about them but i can pass along all the information that the windows Disk Management tool will show me about it.
The partition appears to be created at the end of the drive.
Its 9GB in size / 9,665,769,472 bytes to be exact. Razz
File system is NTFS.
Is labeled HP_RECOVERY.
Thats all the info i have rite now but others may chip in with other info if re-creating the partition isn't successful with just this info.
