HD4890 or crossfire HD4850 or GTX 275
Hello,
My configuration:
- asus P5E3 premium wifi-ap@n
- INTEL quad core 9450
- asus HD4850
- 4go ddr3
- samsung F spinpoint 32mo 1To
- 3 DD digital western
- Vista 32 premium
- xp pro 32bit
I would like to modify my graphic configuration either by adding a HD4850 (for a crossfire), or to change for a HD 4890 or one GTX 275. Taking into consideration test various found on the Net, it seems that the crossfire is not taken into account in many plays in particular because of the limitation of the CPU or quite simply because the plays does not benefit from the multi-gpu. And between HD4890 and GTX 275, if the first appears faster when the filters are activated, it does not profit from the assets of nvidia as regards “physics” and from technology CUDA.
What to choose with the final one?
I await your opinions. Thank you.
Re: HD4890 or crossfire HD4850 or GTX 275
I think that the addition of a 2nd HD 4850 will be the best choice. The majority of the plays deal with the crossfire, except on the plays “special Nvidia” kind Crysis Warhead. The crossfire walk very well in general.
Afterwards, if you really want of Nvidia, the GTX 275 is not badly, but knows that the GTX 260+ are currently disappoint with 160 euros and they are not enormously less performance that the GTX 275 I think (can be Maximum 15%).
Thus to see, but all the charts currently have a performance ratio/equivalent price (more or less) except the GTX 285 who is out of price for enormously more performance.
Re: HD4890 or crossfire HD4850 or GTX 275
if I add a HD4850 512mb for example, between the 2 cards (thus for me 2x512=1gb) or that remains it with 512mb? Moreover, I never then the less have a doubt as for the performances of a crossfire HD4850…

Not the memory is not added, you would also be necessary to see whether the possible crossfire between hd4850 and hd4890 and (with one 4870 yes) that could be interesting.
