Network with modem/router + router/wifi
I am logged in Wimax, through a Linksys SPA-2102 (modem/router/voip) ip 192.168.12.1
To share the connection, I added behind a router/wifi D-LINK DI-524UP ip 192.168.0.1
How to configure the network so that everything works perfectly? The internet connection is not stable, and especially I can not open ports for some applications, I guess that's not good to have two serial routing ...
Re: Network with modem/router + router/wifi
Yes because Linksys SPA-2102 is a router and it is he who initiates the connection to the Internet. Incidentally he is responsible for the VoIP so that you can call via your internet connection.
Quote:
The SPA2102 includes two 100BaseT RJ45 Ethernet interfaces (LAN-WAN) to connect to a LAN or local company, and an Ethernet connection to a broadband modem or router (WAN).
So its WAN interface connects to a modem. To be less bothered with this cascade of router, I put the personal D-Link from Linksys DMZ. For example you assign the IP 192.168.12.2 to D-Link (Part WAN) and you put this IP in the DMZ of the Linksys.
Re: Network with modem/router + router/wifi
Okay, I understand. But then, is this-I just can not replace Linksys by my D-Link DI-524UP? It can not initiate the internet connection too?
Re: Network with modem/router + router/wifi
If I thought about it. But I fear that VoIP no longer then. Finally it is to test the worst. But in this case, you do the opposite: Linksys in the DMZ of the D-Link.
Re: Network with modem/router + router/wifi
I do not use VoIP at the moment, the service is not yet active. So in fact, I even need the Linksys so I can make the connection with D-Link?
Problem, I do not have the connection settings, they were pre-configured in the Linksys (I login, but the password is *****), I do not know what was there.
If I get the settings menu in which D-Link I have to include?
Re: Network with modem/router + router/wifi
It is set in the WAN interface normally. Must choose the correct mode of connection, the login and password.
