How to erase Hard Drive with Windows Vista
Hello,
I am computer nerd and therefore I want to know a way on how to erase a hard drive with windows vista cd. I know how to do that with Windows XP, but I would like to know if the formatting of the hard drive can be done by Windows Vista CD? Thank you
Re: How to erase Hard Drive with Windows Vista
Set your CD-ROM as the first boot device, enter the Windows Vista CD-ROM and press a key when it tells you to press a key to continue installation. Then select the Windows Vista installation and you should be prompted what harddisk/partition you wish to format and how.
Re: How to erase Hard Drive with Windows Vista
To format your hard drive, insert the installation DVD of Vista and go through the options until you get to choose which partition to install Vista on and just click the button at the bottom that says "Format".
And just to tell all those people who are complaining about vista. Unless you want to have XP forever I suggest you switch to Vista and deal with the problems, because one day you will have to.
Re: How to erase Hard Drive with Windows Vista
Why don't you do this: Vista is not like XP. You don't have to erase the drive. You can restore your computer back to the way it was when you bought it. So just restore it back to the earliest time.
Also, put a good password on it. And never let others use your account. Use the Guest Account. You can always delete a Guest Account to prevent all this trouble.

Re: How to erase Hard Drive with Windows Vista
I don't think so there is any procedure that will let to set all settings to default. You can try system restore to your system previous date settings, and you can try by opening each settings module and set it to default settings. Or the best way is do a clean install.
