How to recover Vista administrator account?
Hello Forum,
From my admin account, I enabled hidden "super admin" Dword value to 1. No problem.
Seeing that it had no more effect for the installation of the famous utility, I changed the key "0", and closes the comp .....
Tonight, my admin account is gone!
Problem, I have 2 accounts on vista home:
The account of "BUBULE" dedicated to children with minimal rights and parental control
On behalf of my wife in the "standard profile"
Acquire a window "cmd" then type in admin or "regedit" and change the DWORD value to "1" or "net user administrator / active:yes" returns me a "system error 5 access denied".
PS: If anyone has a solution for the problem, please help.
Thank you

Re: How to recover Vista administrator account?
First reboot in safe mode by re-starting the computer and pressing F8 repeated as the computer starts up. Then (in safe mode) click Start and then click Run. In the open box type "control userpasswords2" without the quotes.
You will now have access to all the user accounts, including the administrators account and will be able to reset the lost password.
Just click the administrators user account, and then click Reset Password.
You will need to add a new password in the New password and the Confirm new password boxes, and confirm by clicking OK.
All done, you have recovered the lost adminitrators password!

I was facing same problem, but in the end the clean install was the finest solution.
