Vista Driver for Canon D660U scanner
The Canon D660U scanner is compatible with vista. But when I wanted to find the driver that the computer is going to use for the scanner, it said there is no driver available? And said please download the driver from the manufacturer website. Although having the driver installed what is the problem here. Please help me, thank you
Re: Vista Driver for Canon D660U scanner
The device drivers and control applications for scanners and other devices are provided by the device manufacturer, not Microsoft. I'm sure that Canon is working on providing a more robust driver that will become available at a later date.

If you are using 32 bit Vista the Canon drivers are here http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/co...1&modelid=6629
Re: Vista Driver for Canon D660U scanner
I found a hint: it seems that the Fax and Scan Software needs a new kind of driver called WIS-Driver. All other applications e.g. Office 2007 or Paint still use the twain driver within Vista, just the Fax solution does not.
Unfortunatly I was not able to verify this information in the Microsoft Knowledgebase. Actually, I did not find any information on this topic in the net. I contacted Canon already and they are aware of that problem but don“t know if they will ever provide the new driver for older scanner models.
