Viewsonic VX1962WM Native resolution problem
hi,
I have ViewSonic’s 19" VX1962wm widescreen LCD monitor.it's native resolution 1680x1050. I have tried both VGA and DVI, and VGA actually had better results, but the highest resolution I could run was something like 1380x864.So can anyone help me on how to get my computer or monitor to properly scale the resolution as to how it should be displayed natively?
Re: Viewsonic VX1962WM Native resolution problem
Most LCD monitors are able to inform the PC of their native resolution using Extended display identification data (EDID). However, some LCD TVs, especially those with 1366x768 pixels, fail to provide their native resolution and only provide a set of lower resolutions, resulting in a less than picture perfect output.
Some widescreen LCD monitors optionally display lower resolutions without scaling or stretching an image, so that the image will always be in full sharpness, although it will not occupy the full screen.

Try reinstalling driver for it as may just be common fault in them.

What Monitor do you see installed in Device Manager? My guess is that you have a "Generic PnP" one.If such is the case you need to get from Sony the driver for your monitor. It is usually a very small text file, with the "inf" extension.
