I come to you to ask you for help, ie I have a XP home on my laptop, unfortunately, all my icons do not work, I thought the flow is from any virus but by scan this not the virus.
To open any documents I have to left click on the icon then click Open. This is my reason I need your help to enable me to resolve this anomaly.

Click "EXE File Association Fix" (Restore default association for EXE files) .
Try deleting C:\Windows\ShellIconCache
Windows will recreate it when you reboot. or I suggest you to use a third party software to fix the problem. I am using Tuneup Utilities 2004. It has a nice feature called Tuneup Winstyler.
