Re: Application Compatibility Warning
As part of the process of upgrading Windows XP to Windows Vista, the Setup program automatically runs a compatibility check against the existing hardware and software. If a problem is found, a compatibility report is shown.

Re: Application Compatibility Warning
You must make the following changes before upgrading Windows
- The upgrade cannot be started. To upgrade, you must be running Windows Vista with Service Pack 1 (SP1), or Windows Code Name "7"
- The upgrade cannot be started because the content on your installation disc is written in a different language than the language on your computer. To fix this, get an installation disc that uses the same language as your computer.
- To upgrade Windows, you must restart your computer, and then run Windows installation again.
- This compatibility report will be saved to your current desktop.
Re: Application Compatibility Warning
Windows XP has a database called Apphelp.sdb in the %SystemRoot%\AppPatch folder that contains a list of known application compatibility issues. When you try to install an older backup program or disk utility that is incompatible with XP, you'll get a dialog box warning you of a possible problem and saying "To run the program, click Continue. For more information, click Details" generated from the information in these databases.
