What is Windows server 2008 Foundation?

I just heard that windows has a new version of windows 2008 server known as "Windows Server 2008 Foundation? Is it true? or is it a mere rumor? Just curious...! Thanks in advance...!

Microsoft today expanded its Windows Server family of operating systems with the addition of Windows Server 2008 Foundation. The new product, which is built on Windows Server 2008 but is 64-bit only, is aimed at small businesses with 15 or fewer users. According to Madlener and Sinkevicious, customers have been asking Microsoft for a simple and cheap server operating system for quite some time. Server 2008 Foundation is an entry-level offering that will be available only through OEM partners like HP, Dell, IBM, and Acer. That means that software is preinstalled and small businesses can start using file and print services off the bat. On the other hand, it also means that the price will be set by the OEM and small businesses will not be able to put the OS on their current server (according to Microsoft, about 30 percent of small businesses have a server). Shipments are expected to start in one to two months.
