Re: unable to run computer
What is your computer specifications? I know a way to solve this problem quite easily. Go into the Bios and there should be an option somewhere saying "legacy something" under the hard drive section.

My laptop model is Acer Travelmate 4720. I tried entering Bios but did not see "legacy something" as you said.
Would you tell me in more detail please?
Re: unable to run computer
Could it be some kind of viruses occur in my laptop? This issue happened just right after installing a new program. If this caused by viruses, how can I scan my laptop in this case?
Every suggestion will be appreciated.
Re: unable to run computer
I have just restarted my laptop in command prompt. It said "multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\Windows\system32\ntoskrnl.exe". Any suggestion?
Re: unable to run computer
the hard disk is likely to be SATA. Windows XP setup cannot assign drivers to the device, and so it can't be seen by it. Using a program called nLite, you can create a new disc with both Windows setup and the SATA drivers on it, so that Windows will be able to recognise the drivers. The SATA drivers should be on the Acer website.

Hey!
Try to repair install the windows... Not at the first interface screen but after pressing F8 key for accepting license agreement it will automatically detect the windows already installed. Press "R" key at that time and installation would start...! After Windows is setup, ensure you have a anti-virus software installed and fully updated...! If everything is well, fine! If not that this is a hardware issue, it could be any thing like : powersupply in your case may be battery or RAM or even cooling insufficient...! All the best...! Do post back...!
