Since I switched from Firefox 2 version ... to version 3 (3.08 yesterday), I can not do downloads of files (from any where and everywhere)
When I downloaded, the box "Download" opens, loading the file takes place normally, and at the end of downloading the file disappears from the place where I had intended for loading. I already tried many solutions, and the first is to make a clean uninstall of the previous version of Firefox 2. but no change.
I tried to disable my Anti-virus.
Would you have a firewall by chance ? you must turn it off, it's useless because the services always running. We must remove all references to Firefox so that you leave again.
Try this and see.
Type about: config and search option browser.download.manager.scanWhenDone
Its default value is true. Double-click on the option to switch to false.
This disables antivirus scan at the end of the download. See if it suits the situation.
Uninstall firefox 2&3 completely and re-install! And change firewall settings.
First of all try to uninstall and reinstall firefox web browser.
