Motherboard μATX + CPU for MediaCenter
I am building a MediaCenter for my home and so I want to change the motherboard + CPU for an "integrated whole".
A. Motherboard
I would therefore prefer microATX motherboard (into my ANTEC Fusion) with:
1. Integrated graphics chip that can read without problem a 1080p video file
2. An HDMI output
3. Integrated audio chip
4. A coaxial digital output that allows the passthrough
I found the P5E-VM HDMI from Asus, but do you have others to advise me?
B. CPU
I need a CPU that can be flexible enough and knowing that the PC is only for MediaCenter. Preferably a price not exceeding Rs. 6500 except technical necessity justified.
Re: Motherboard μATX + CPU for MediaCenter
Very good choice for the motherboard. For the CPU, I take personal one that uses a 800MHz FSB in order to have the lowest frequency (and hence consumption) possible in idle, ie 95% of the time of operation of a MediaCenter. A Core2Duo E5300 should be a good candidate. If you are looking for a CPU a bit bigger, there is the E7300.
Re: Motherboard μATX + CPU for MediaCenter
Thank you for your answer
The question I ask myself is:
This motherboard can it really passthrough the audio through SPDIF?
Incidentally, I did not find an E7300, E7400 just with a 1033Mhz FSB.
Re: Motherboard μATX + CPU for MediaCenter
Intel Core2 Duo Desktop Processor E7300
Processor Specifications:
CPU Speed: 2.66 GHz
Bus Speed: 1066 MHz
L2 Cache Size: 3 MB
L2 Cache Speed: 2.66 GHz
It would be best in my opinion.
Re: Motherboard μATX + CPU for MediaCenter
My opinion is to use an E5200, it will be very much useful in your case, and you will make savings.
