MLB At Bat 2009 releases iPhone app with game audio
With the baseball season starting in a week, Major League Baseball has launched the 2009 edition of its excellent At Bat app for Apple's (AAPL) iPhone and iPod touch. In addition to live scores, game tracking, and in-game video highlights, this year's edition includes live in-game audio. This means you'll be able to listen to home and away radio broadcasts over wi-fi or 3G.
We expect the app to sell well, while other sports apps exist, none offers At Bat's in-game video and live audio features.
Baseball is also working on a similar edition of the service for RIM (RIMM) BlackBerry devices, which we expect to launch before the season starts.
Re: MLB At Bat 2009 releases iPhone app with game audio
I think it would be good for those who cant get Baseball on Sirius yet or haved dumped Satellite Radio all together and Have a I phone. As long as the price doesn't increase dramatically I may jump on this one. The one thing I miss about XM is baseball. And I can get the home and away broadcast teams.
Re: MLB At Bat 2009 releases iPhone app with game audio
I saw a promo video of the 2009 application for the iphone and it says that gameday audio is supported. Do I need to buy gameday audio appart from the application or do I get gameday audio by just buying the application from the apple itunes store?
Re: MLB At Bat 2009 releases iPhone app with game audio
You do not need to buy Gameday Audio separate from MLB.com At Bat, however you will only have access to Gameday Audio in the iPhone. If you would like to access Gameday Audio from a computer, you would need to purchase a subscription.
