Transferring large files to external disk impossible
Hello,
I try to copy large files (ISO images from 5 to 10GB) of my internal hard drive to an external hard drive, but the system tells me that there is not enough space. In fact, there are over 100 GB of free space. The transfer of files smaller tailless (3 GB for example) is not a problem. What's happening?
Thank you.
Re: Transferring large files to external disk impossible
I believe it is a question of compatibility FAT32 (max. 4GB)
Re: Transferring large files to external disk impossible
As Birdie, it would seem that your external drive is formatted in FAT32, and repeat this control us.
Re: Transferring large files to external disk impossible
Problem: Windows refuses to reformat my external hard drive, even after I deleted everything (including hidden files) and all my programs are closed, displaying the error message:
"Windows can not format this drive. Quit any disk utilities or other programs using this drive e check window that displays the contents of the drive. "
What to do?
Re: Transferring large files to external disk impossible
Very good tool for that retrieves unlocker
after right-clicking on the disc and it affichera processes that lock disk
generally a defragmenter in auto mode you unlock them all and after you format ntfs
Good luck
Re: Transferring large files to external disk impossible
I did a defragmenter in the background. I had not thought of. I stopped and I was able to start the formatting.
Thank you a thousand times
