Overclock the GPU and CPU
Need to overclock my computer again. But since I have had problems with my computer was unstable when overclocking, I seek help this time. I assume that problems eventually occurred due to software failures, as it has functioned optimally after formatting.
But looking for advice for how to clock ram against the CPU, and whether to change the volts to the CPU? In addition, over how much the GPU should overclock.
In short, an optimal overclocking of my system.
LC Power 540 watts
Asus Maximus Republic of the Gamers
Intel E8400 3GHz
Asus 8800gt (soon to be able to run sli)
2 x Corsai Dominator 2GB
Seagate Barracuda 300ms
Zalman cpu cooler
Re: Overclock the GPU and CPU
You should be able to get your cpu up to about 4 GHz. Start by running ram 1:1 ie. 900 MHz and you can try to run with skewed divider later when everything else has been tested stable.
GPU should be something like 700/1750/2000 depending on cooling. Mine is running 700/1800/2000 easily, but it is not the reference cooler that is sitting on.
Re: Overclock the GPU and CPU
My graphics card is running just the standard cooler which is high in giving Asus display. Ram running on auto ie 800MHz, but they are made to 1066MHz, you must not be put to it? and there is reason to change the volts and FSB?
Re: Overclock the GPU and CPU
Put the ram to run in 1066 if you can on the asus board (do not know the asus bios). Remember to give them the excitement as the manufacturer states.
If you want to overclock your cpu you will have to raise the FSB and set vcore to around. 1.3v measured in cpu-z.
Please try your way with rivatuner for GPU.
