Microsoft Windows Genuine Advantage Notifications more aggressively for XP Pro
"The component Windows Genuine Advantage Notifications from Microsoft has recently been updated to identify in particular the pirated copies of Windows XP Pro"
Microsoft renews its fight against pirated copies of Windows XP updates and Windows Genuine Advantage Notifications. The news is reported by SoftPedia.com and source is Microsoft itself to the voice of Alex Kochis, Director Windows Genuine Advantage.
With this new version, Microsoft has revised the procedures for installing and updating the component, making the process as transparent as possible. Alex Kochis says that Windows XP Professional is one of the most counterfeited products, therefore, in this operating system have been devoted special efforts on the front detection of illegal product key.
The WGA component is installed in a transparent manner to the user when activated the option to auto-update system. To activate the component will require a restart of the system. In the case of a simple update of WGA will not be necessary to restart the PC.
The types of signs provided in the case of pirated copies are known: a series of messages via more invasive notify the user about the detected problem and suggest how to resolve the situation.

but what change? Even before who had the automatic update was installed the WGA Notification (who was seen as just an upgrade) so automated.
Re: Microsoft Windows Genuine Advantage Notifications more aggressively for XP Pro
Rather than any transparencies, the only thing clear is that it is an force attempt / incentive to move from XP to Vista (where gardening the restrictions of this type are almost absent ...)
Re: Microsoft Windows Genuine Advantage Notifications more aggressively for XP Pro
well I would say that there is nothing wrong if a software house seeks to curb the phenomenon of piracy
Those who have a genuine copy of winXP do not believe :whistling see this move as an invitation to move to vista ... and those who have pirated xp to 99% have / tried / could also obtain pirated vista and I do not see then what and how much do they earn from it :bleh:
