I have a website. Since last 1 month when we enter my site to download a file, it opens and prevents visitors from entering that site (if you cancel everything disappears but my homepage is not accessible). I suppose that there is a virus from a competitor on my website neing placed but I do not know what to do, I republished my page also but the file always opens!
In what language you have written your page (html, php, ...)? Who is hosting your site? Check that your homepage has the name: index.html (or other extension: php, asp, ...) and also what is the name of the file that starts to download?
When you are in the browser www.xxx.com a "File Download-Security Warning" opens, and you must click cancel to not download the files (virus?) and then nothing happens. My pages are done in html and my hosting company is the American lunarpages.com, my file is called index.html and well if I put in the browser www.xxxx.com / index.html, there are no files to Download but that still appears, it only appears when you go to www.xxx.com. I think its hacked.
Basically, the best solution is to post a ticket in the web hosting place where you have registered it. Then they will have enough details to recreate the issue and solve it.
Most hackers are "Script Kiddies" from my experience and most of the time they gain access through a script. Do you have any scripts that allow uploading?
