Set up a system authentication
Hello,
I want to establish a system of strong authentication to secure the network of an enterprise.
Here is the architecture:
Domino Directory
Messaging LOTUS NOTES
The servers are primarily on Linux (Red Hat)
Workstations are XP
These are:
- We need the solution for strong authentication is "implementable" with Domino LDAP.
- It is necessary that the solution works with VPN
After studying different solution I chose the company ActivIdentity with a code system which is refreshed every minute.
What do you think?
Have you established a system for strong authentication?
How do I start?
What are the steps to achieve?
Thank you for your answers!
Re: Set up a system authentication
SSL / TLS is a very flexible solution that fits a lot of usage such as: messaging POPS / IMAP, HTTPS web sites, the VPN (see the side of OpenVPN) and many others.
I think that this solution matches your needs.
Re: Set up a system authentication
Authentication = certificate, smart card, biometrics yes, also RSA tokens
Re: Set up a system authentication
therefore meets on SSL
edit: I had not seen that the designer was talking about system that automatically generates codes (RSA token)
Re: Set up a system authentication
Yeah finally it is the SSL protocol layer providing encryption and not a system of strong authentication , even if the system is probably strong authentication using SSL.
SSL has nothing to do with / does not interrogate LDAP (LDAPS but whether it is not that we are talking about)
