Problem with selection of text in Outlook Express

I have a problem with Outlook Express which belongs to my grandmother. In fact it has become impossible to select text with the mouse; keyboard with shift it works, in all other software it works (IE, Wordpad, etc) but not in the mail (or received or sent).

I searched the options a bit but that did not helped me, in fact I experienced some difficulties. (especially with the net 56k elsewhere ...)

If someone can tell me or find out how to fix this problem!

May be it would not have SP2 installed by any chance? Because this problem seems to be typical of a bug introduced by SP2. You will find easy links to reinstall OE, but try this first:

- Uncheck the "Automatically download messages when viewing in the preview pane" in "Tools> Options> Playback"
- Restart the computer
- Recheck the option, you should be able to make these selections

Thank you for the info, I will try that, but it is not clear and that not often I see my grandmother .

For SP2 I am not, in my view there was but I try anyway.
