Hello guys,
Recently I have encounter problem when I am playing Left 4 dead. Whenever I press a keyboard button, the beep sounds from my PC can be heard. It stops when I am not pressing anything. Again, this is only occur once in a while. After I restart the game, it will go back to normal.
It is problem with my motherboard or graphic card?
I'm using
Intel Q9550
Gigabyte EP45-UD3P
Asus Radeon EAH4870 DK 1GB

I'm guessing it's the CPU overheat beep option in bios that you are hearing. the graphics card only works hard during 3d stuff like games, but the cpu works hard for things like games aswell.
Check temps of your cpu with asus probe or preferably mbm5. Prime95 will load your cpu without loading graphics card, which will confirm if the cpu is overheating causing the beeps.
If the pc is over 2 years old the thermal grease would have dried up a bit at least, and the heatsinks are all probably full of dust. would be good to take pc apart and use a can of compressed air to blow out cpu & gpu heatsinks and the surrounding areas on mobo & graphics card. would be good to blow out dust from powersupply aswell.
Would be great to use artic silver 5 on the cpu & gpu heatsinks, after cleaning chip & heatsinks thouroughly with isopropyl or methylated spirits. this will give better temps than what the pc ever had.
Also, confirm the fans are actually working, run the pc with the side cover off for visual confirmation.
This is a BIOS error-beep I guess. So check your type of BIOS and check on there website for the meaning of this beep-error. 9 out of 10 times its your videocard.

A beeping sound obviously indicates some sort of problem is going on..... since you are receiving beeping noise while playing game, probably there might be some error occured during installation.
Uninstall and try reinstalling......might fix the problem :thumbup1:
I doubt the temp will be an issue, since I have a Cooler master V8 with it. And I haven't overclock my PC yet. But, I will double check with it again:biggrin:
I have downloaded the Speedfan program recommend by DeoWo. I have loaded 2 photo...one with the PC at idle state, the 2nd photo is with L4D playing at the background.
Does my system overheat?
