Try closing your messenger andn reload again !! messenger normally gives you a troubleshoot option where you can repair your messenger connection (ip,default gateway) try to click on repair.
Right-click on the account name in the Folder pane and selecting 'Remove account'. Restart WLMail, then use the 'Add e-mail account' wizard at the foot of the folder pane to put the account back again. Depending on the number of messages in your Hotmail folders, it might take more than one synchronization cycle to get the whole lot in sync again, if it works, that is. If it doesn't, Support is your only option. Be sure to tell them that you've tried removing and re-creating the account, otherwise that's probably what they will suggest first off.
I assume you've tried removing the account, restarting WLMail and then adding it back again. I don't know whether installing the new version would have been equivalent - a corruption in the account setup might have migrated with everything else.

Check the Windows Firewall in Control Panel to see if its blocked.
Click the Exceptions (tab) and click Add Program if its not already listed.

checked the firewall and it's ok. MSN and mail is in there. Getting error code 80048862 in MSN
I totally understand why it's wasn't working.
