looking for original Operating System
I have just recovered a old pc cpu: 233MHz HD: 2Gig SDRAM and (I think I have seen) 512 which has a 98 windows unbootable even in Safe Mode and According what my former owner said it would be after the passage of a large virus.
I would like to install OS original (legally) but I do not know what to turn the above .
Ubuntu 4.10 to install plant and I do not even talk of 8.10 .
Have you any ideas? I was thinking that amiga 4.0 to be interesting but I did not find any. Iso so if you I'm interested but you know if it works on my antiques?
Re: looking for original Operating System
Small Linux should be appropriate for testing or Debian provided not install too much stuff. You can also try Slackware.
Re: looking for original Operating System
dsl already in the version on my xbox xdsl. but infact I'm looking for something original that is to say other than the usual windows linux and mac os.
And I note however that even Gparted does not turn on the machine!
Re: looking for original Operating System
"original" I would say DragonFlyBSD, BSD or other more common, but the problem if you type in really exotic stuff that is likely to get something useless.
Solaris would be interesting to test but also a bit heavy I think.
In the most exotic I mention Haiku OS, but it seems very little used (although the project is active).
Re: looking for original Operating System
Thank you I'll watch it in detail. infact the goal is a fun use for there was not even ethernet card (and I probably will not spend money for this thing ...)
