How to turn off the Built-In CD Burner

Hello friends,

I have heard from my friends that we can turn off the Built-in Cd burner,but they don't know how to do it.I had also try to find it over internet but of no use.Can anyone help me out with this issue.

Gigabyte 780 with Intel Chipset
2gb ram
500 gb HDD
GeForce 7300 GS

Sure i will help you out with this before that may i know on Operating System are you using it.


Intel Core 2 Duo 2.8 Ghz
G31 Asrock Motherboard with Intel chipset
512 mb RAM
256 Nvidia Graphic Card
120 gb HDD

I am using Windows XP SP 2 as my Operating System.

Try to follow the below steps:-

1. Open up the Explorer
2. Right click on the drive that is your CD burner
3. Select Properties
4. Click on the Recording tab
5. Uncheck Enable CD recording on this drive
