USB unintended interruption
Hi Everyone,
Having a problem for quite some time I will post my concerns hoping to have possible solutions.
My problem is simple. When my external hard drives are on, they regularly disconnect from Windows XP to automatically reconnect after. This creates an interruption in the audio or video playback or transfer.
In short, a small virtual nightmare as you can see.
So how to solve this problem according to you?
Thank you for your help
Re: USB unintended interruption
Do you use a hub on which are the two HD?
Re: USB unintended interruption
Yes I use a hub on which is my 4 external hard drives is powered independently in addition to my HDD . which are powered independently.
I test by removing the power from my USB hub on a copy of 20GB and yet it has not been interrupted.
What you think Birdie ?
Re: USB unintended interruption
Well apparently this is not a problem of dual power as I thought because I had a break during the copy of my files.
Re: USB unintended interruption
your HDD is on the same hub. Is this hub uses 4 different IRQ or 2? I think your disks use the same interrupts and therefore can not transfer files between them healthy.
The solution to these problems and buying a USB card that adds internal USB ports true.
Re: USB unintended interruption
Hello,
"I have a tiny 4 USB2 hub on an extension cord to an outlet behind my machine."
And without the small hub,,,, I take this opportunity to denounce the often execrable quality of the USB hub that is found almost everywhere in the trade.
