Problem with Logon screen in Vista
Hey Everyone,
I'm unable to get my log on screen on my laptop. I'm running Window Vista as my operating system. Until last night it used to work fine, but after shutting down my laptop, i'm facing this problem. I had tried to recovery it by using Vista recovery disc, but didn't succeed. Does any one have any idea how do i resolve this problem? Would be grateful to you, if any body helps me out.
Thanks.
Re: Problem with Logon screen in Vista
Restart your laptop, press F8 key go into Safe Mode. Now go to system restorer and choose a restore point prior to the problem and that should fix it.
Re: Problem with Logon screen in Vista
Try to do manual steps to back up the registry in Windows Vista.
1. Click Start button then type systempropertiesprotection in the Start Search box, and then press ENTER. User Access Control permission. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for a confirmation, type the password, or click Allow.
2. Wait for Windows to search for available disks and most recent restore points. In the System Properties dialog box, on the System Protection tab, click Create.
3. Type a name for the restore point and then click Create.
4. After the restore point has been created successfully, click OK two times.
Note If System Restore is turned off, click to select the local disk, click Apply and then click Create.
Re: Problem with Logon screen in Vista
I finally was able to get it going and get the login screen.
The following steps i took:
1) Edit file dbDebug.conf and set DebugLevel=6 (first line)
2) run SimpleConfig.exe and activate windowed mode and set resolution to 1024x768 and disable audio
3) run Patchersetup.exe
Hope so it may resolve your issue.:thumbup1:
