Add Vista Administrative Tools to the Start Menu
Hi all... I was using a Vista system, Sometimes as a Network Administrator I get on a home users machine and have to pause for a few seconds to get to the Administrator programs that I use to sort out the day to day trouble regular users get themselves into to. But now i am shifted to some where else bcz of my office, and hence my work machine is also changed. Its still Vista but i dont know how to add Administrative Tools to the Start Menu in Vista. Could any one of you help me doing that ?
Re: Add Vista Administrative Tools to the Start Menu
Depending on your Windows Vista Start Menu configuration, to access Administrative Tools such as the Reliability and Performance Monitor, you must either type the name of the tool into the Start Menu's search box, or first access the Control Panel and then the Administrative Tools section.
Anyways, to put those administrative tools in Vista at your fingertips through the Start Menu, follow this steps:-
1. Right-Click on the Start Button, choose Properties.
2. From the Taskbar and Start Menu Properties window click on the Smart Menu tab, then click on Customize.
3. Scroll down to System administration tools > Select Display on the all programs menu and the Start menu.
4. Click Ok twice and thats it , your all set.
Re: Add Vista Administrative Tools to the Start Menu
If you are using the Classic Start Menu, than follow some changes in the steps:-
1. Right-click an empty area of the Windows Taskbar and choose "Properties".
2. When the "Taskbar and Start Menu Properties" multi-tabbed dialog box appears, click the "Start Menu" tab.
3. One "Customize" button should be enabled. Click it.
4. The "Customize Classic Start Menu" dialog box appears. Check "Display administrative tools".
5. Click "OK" on the dialog boxes to close them.
