Problem of "missing NTLDR"
I have a problem of "Missing NTLDR".
I have the procedure for re-install but I do not know how to encode a command (Seen on your site).
Indeed, I have to "encode" the opposite of "/" in the console repair WINDOWS. (Copy e: \ i386 \ NTLDR c: \ and copy e: \ i386 \ NTDETECT c: \)
I found it on my keyboard with "<and> but 3rd position. Normally, I do utilser the "Alt Gr" in the console but it does not work.
I know it is a stupid but can you help me?
Thank you in advance.
Re: Problem of "missing NTLDR"
One solution is Alt 92.
Activate the numeric keypad
Hold down the Alt key
Type 92 (while holding down Alt)
Release Alt
Re: Problem of "missing NTLDR"
I tried with "ALT 92"
The problem is when I type:
copy e: \ i386 \ ntldr c: \ and copy e: \ i386 \ ntdetect.com c: \ (with "e" drive where the CD of windows)
ie: if I type only the first command + "ENTER" ==> "File not found"
ie: if I type the 2 commands as a result + "ENTER" ==> "The parameter is not valid. Try /? for help."
Someone has a solution?
Re: Problem of "missing NTLDR"
It lacks the extension. EXE NTLDR to:
Quote:
copy e: \ i386 \ ntldr.exe c: \
copy e: \ i386 \ ntdetect.com c: \
But a more "healthy" would be to boot on the XP CD, select the Recovery Console
Re: Problem of "missing NTLDR"
I tried the 2 methods (with "fixboot" and copy the files "ntldr.exe and ntdetect.com" on the "c" from the Windows CD) ==> same result, nothing.
I did a search for these 2 files ( "ntldr.exe and ntdetect.com) on the Windows XP CD FAMILY HOME ==> not found!!
Someone has an idea?
