Office 14 RTM version in March 2010
Last month, Steve Ballmer, CEO of Microsoft, announced during a meeting attended by financial analysts that "the famous suite will be available to the public next year."
Today TechConnect Magazine reports that the edition RTM (Release To Manufacturing) of Office 14, ie the final version to be distributed to vendors, is scheduled for March 2010. Microsoft plans to establish two betas this year, the first reserved for testers, starting in July and the second in November.
Remember that the Office 14 productivity suite was first unveiled at the top of the PDC in October. Among other things, Office 14 will be coupled to on-line services based on the architecture of Microsoft Azure, in order to offer more tools for collaborative work.
In January, Microsoft had distributed alpha components of Office 14 Server with some external companies. According to the first information conveyed on the roadmap of development, we learned that the Redmond company to focus its efforts on:
