Control panal hang up on uninstalling a program
hi,
I 'partially' installed a Click'N'Design program on my Vista Home Premium before the computer 'hung' due to obvious incompatibility. I can open the control panel, and open three of the options (add/remove programs, user accounts and security center) and carry out operations.I've rebooted from cold but still the same. Most programs will run, although a couple seize up when doing certain set up preceedures which must obviously use whatever is jamming it.The other sections either hang or do not allow any execution once the window is open. What has happened and what is the solution? Can anyone help!!!

Reboot into SAFE MODE
- Click Start and then click Turn Off Computer.
- In the Turn Off Windows dialog box, click Restart, and then click OK.
- As your computer restarts but before Windows launches, press F8 repeatedly.
- Use the arrow keys to highlight Safe Mode, and then press ENTER.
- If you have a dual-boot or multiple-boot system, choose the installation that you need to access using the arrow keys, and then press ENTER.

In normal mode windows will load driver of network, video, sound etc. In safe mode they don't be. If some problem has happened with the original system files of OS, it will be replaced by other good file in normal mode. Maybe it can explain why it only happened in safe mode. I just guess that. So you'd better follow some steps to check .cpl and control.ini files.

In WinXP, right click My Computer, and select Properties. Go to the Advanced tab, and under Performance, click Settings. At there, click the Advanced tab. There, you will find one option at the bottom to change your virtual memory. Select Change and increase it.
