How to Disable Javascript in the Adobe PDF Reader ?

By default, Adobe Reader automatically executes the JavaScript code contained in PDF files that you open. However, malicious users could slip malicious code into a PDF file and automatically install a Trojan horse on your computer. For added security and to avoid this kind of infection, you can disable JavaScript in PDF files. If necessary, you can reactivate it for the files of confidence.

1. Start Adobe Reader by clicking its shortcut on the desktop or the Start menu.
   
   
   
2. Click the Edit menu then click Preferences.
   
   
   
3. Click on the category Javascript.
   
   
   
4. In the Javascript, then uncheck "Enable Acrobat JavaScript.
   
   
   
5. Finally, click OK. The JavaScript code contained in PDF files that you open is no longer running. You can reactivate the temporarily if a trust is needed by checking the box again.
