Scroll lock Problem on Toshiba Satellite Laptop
Good evening,
I have purchased a Toshiba Satellite P300 laptop with Vista,also I have a Dell Inspiron but on XP. on the Toshiba brand new when I open a web page, either with Internet Explorer or FireFox the page goes directly to bottom of page, if I try to Raise the page it does not work , should I press the scroll lock button to act on the lift as I understand it, hope to be clear in my explanations, so I would like to disable this "feature" to not constantly press scroll lock, Thank you in advance for your help.

Test this:
- Go to Start and type Regedit.
- Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Control Panel \ Keyboard
- . Open InitialKeyboardIndicators. Set the value to one of the following numbers
- 0 - All Keys off
- 1 - Caps Lock on
- 2 - Num Lock on
- 3 - Caps Lock and Num Lock on
- 4 - Scroll Lock on
- 5 - Caps Lock and Scroll Lock on
- 6 - Num Lock and Scroll Lock on
- 7 - Caps Lock, Num Lock, and Scroll Lock on

Hello , I have the same keyboard and the same problem around the same time (today)(not to mention the same initials)and found that you can disable the scroll lock by bringing up the Windows XP On-Screen Keyboard. Just click 'slk' and the problem should be solved. It's not ideal, but it's better than a restart.

Hello , I have the same computer with Vista Home Premium. As suggested I have Check the setting in the registry, for my part in the key HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Control Panel \ Keyboard InitialKeyboardIndicators and my value is set to 0.
