Hp blocking in Windows Vista
Hello,
I have 1 HP with Vista, integrated with Windows Media Center. After a while it stops. All test "Diagnostic Tools" were successful. I reinstalled the system but nothing happens? Let me know if I can install XP, and retrieve my Windows Media Center? Thank you in advance.
Re: Hp blocking in Windows Vista
To see if you can install XP, go to the HP site to see if they have provided drivers for XP.
Otherwise wait for Windows 7 which is more stable or have a version like Mandriva Linux.
Re: Hp blocking in Windows Vista
It's likely your laptop does not support hardware acceleration (most laptops don't). You'd have to buy a completely new laptop designed for the type of task you want to do in your laptop.
Attempt to redownload your driver from hp.com for your computer. If that doesn't work you'll have to buy a better video card. And sometimes a better video card requires a better power supply as well.

Follow the steps described in Method 1 on this page in the resolution section.
From here you'll at least be able to see if the feature is available to you.

- A Critical Process Failure error appears while trying to configure an internet connection during first run. The text of the error message states "A critical Media Center process has unexpectedly failed. If problems persist, please restart your machine and try again, or contact technical support. Code: 3"
- A Tuner Not Found error appears while trying to setup a TV signal during first run.
