Video Card Artifacts
I am having a small query regarding video card. I just wanted to know that What are the reasons of video card artifacts? I think mostly is video card itself (GPU, RAM, etc.) but can the CPU, motherboard or system RAM be the cause of artifacts?
Please provide some views regarding this

Re: Video Card Artifacts
High heat.
Mostly shows up if you overclock the core or memory to much.
Might also be down to not enough power but mostly overheating.

Re: Video Card Artifacts
if i'm not mistaken there are 2 types of artifacting.. which you can identify.. one of them corresponds to your core increase and one of them to your memory.

Re: Video Card Artifacts
I tried some more volts anyway and it didnty help. Might I need more power supply ? I am using the stock 430 watt that came with my tsunami dream case .
babyelf , if you might stumble upon that website again it would be real helpful .
Stats , yeah 6800 are different , and that may be why 6600gt's are such a good mid range card , or they just measure it differently or something . Mine stock is 500 mhz and the nvidia overclock interface detects the maximum safe overclock as about 575 mhz

Re: Video Card Artifacts
Normally artifacts tells me the graphics card is overheating, that happened once with my 1900xtx when i had my old case. Make your the fans spinning and none of your case fans have died.
The random reboots seems like PSU problems. Whats the +12v line say for Amps (usually A) on teh generic PSU? It could be that its just a shitty generic PSU.
