Re: Core i7 920 overheating
Check in bios CPU voltage, then visually check that the fan of your ventirad actually running (it may be faulty) Finally, check that you did "Scotch" fan to the socket on the motherboard, it may be that you have not sufficiently supported or pushed in and thus the contact does not well ...
Here are some solutions
Re: Core i7 920 overheating
Probably a sensor problem, its quite often with the i7. Return your pc where you bought the view that it is under warranty, its useless to broken head. Test the reach of fan to see if it is hot or warm. Otherwise it is an improper installation.
What software do you use to see the temperature? I will recommend CoreTemp v0.99.4 which is compatible with the Core i7
Re: Core i7 920 overheating
So thank you already for your answers, I just downloaded coretemp with the correct version, still the same result.
As against the fan does not give a great blow on the radiator, and seems to idle, it probably comes from there.
I check the assembly, it is installed, the voltage is 1225 V. I'm at 50 ° C without any use of the program.
Solution: bought a new more efficient fan to continue on a overclock?
