I have recently installed the trial version of Kaspersky Antivirus. I scanned for certain files several times, the scan is blocked and Kaspersky does not respond. Often I can not do anything else at the same time blocking again. In fact the PC should. It must be off then on again to work again.
Probably an incompatibility with the firewall (What are you having as the firewall)? If it does not work then why don't you uninstall it.
I have Windows Vista Home Premium and I use its firewall.
Disable Windows Defender, as it does not mix with Kaspersky. And if you have other real-time antispyware or Spybot, you can uninstall them too. Kaspersky does not like too that them through out his way.
Firewall that works well with PC Tools is Kaspersky.
