Find your icons with IconLook
http://www.iconlook.com/ is an interesting and easy search of icons, with features that will facilitate the search for them. You can search by keywords and select the size you want. You can also use the Search you a list of icons and a cloud of tags. Something you should bear in mind when finding your icons, is that these are taken from other websites and it is good to see the description of them to know how you can use them and if they have some kind of license.
Re: Find your icons with IconLook
Excellent link, I did not know. Another good icons search engine worth pockets on the markers is Iconfinder which adds an interesting component, which is the AJAX autocompletion of words in the search. But IconLook allows the addition of tags by users, and it returns more results than IconFinder. Thank you.
Re: Find your icons with IconLook
When most search engines display the series web page URL, the website only displays an appropriate icon series with a keyword. More unique, you can directly download the file from this website. For specific searches, you can find determine icon size 12 x 12, 16 x 16, 22 x 22, 32 x 32, 48 x 48, 64 x 64, and 128 x 128 pixels.
Re: Find your icons with IconLook
One of the gripes I have about this site is that it is not consistent. The iconlook index page was the only one which contained the three links within the footer. Anytime you browsed one level further into the site, the footer disappears. Also, probably one of the biggest complaints I have about this site is the lack of an about page. As far as I’m concerned, the ABOUT page is the most important page on any website. Without it, user’s have no freaking clue as to what the site’s real purpose is.
Re: Find your icons with IconLook
It appears to me as though they are not crawling the net, indexing various icon packs. Instead, icons/icon packs appear to be stored on the Iconlook server itself and once added, they are added to the in house search index. ICONLook is an interesting search engine that may be useful to web designers and programmers. It’s also a good place to search visually.
