Overclocking E8400 with P5N-T Deluxe
hello,
I am looking for my help to boost the E8400 that I value it increases the plant I'm not an expert , I know it may be stable at 4GHz but I arrive just 3.2. Is there anyone who can guide me so that i can reach 4Ghz.
My configuration:
Motherboard P5N-T Deluxe
Processor E8400
4gb ram 800mhz
Windows xp 32bits
Graphics card xfx 8800 gtx
Thank you

you put the ram ratio was 1:1 fbs whether you should go to 3.6 ghz no problem if the 9x400 takes a 420mhz RAM you should go to 3780. I believed that your ram must be a 3.25 to get a 3.2 ghz so you will be able to reach 3825 mhz
blocks port pci 100 mhz
so you can reach the 3.8 ghz without much difficulty, but if you want to reach 4 ghz it will increase the voltage of your ram.
Re: Overclocking E8400 with P5N-T Deluxe
Easiest way to do this is to get some RAM that will handle 1:1 overclock at 4ghz without overclocking that ram as well. e8400 is 9 multiplier and 1333mhz fsb (or 333mhz), Minimum FSB for 4ghz would be ~1778mhz (or 444mhz)
for ram that will run syncronously would be about half the FSB (double clock frequency) ~888mhz. So you would be best with a DDR2 900mhz or 1066mhz part.
Lower latency is better and there are alot of good 2x1gb parts out there.

It's important not to confuse CPU temperature (Tcase) with Core temperatures . Use Real Temp to test your Core sensors. If defective, then RMA your 8400. Regardless, the CPU temperature is the only temperature Intel supports. You can calibrate your temperatures by using SpeedFan Beta 4.34 and the Core 2 Quad and Duo Temperature Guide:
