System Fan reporting High RPM
hi,
i have Motherboard: ASUS M4A79T Deluxe
Video card: A 7600 gt manufactured by pny.
Ram: 4 corsair cmx512 [512mb]
Powersupply: Raidmax atx12v
I cant be sure about the cpu, all I know is that it's made by amd.i recently installed audio driver after that System Fan is not working properly. it shows high value of RPMs for the fan as compared to the CPU.What has happened and what is the solution? Can anyone help!!!
Re: System Fan reporting High RPM
Well, I dont think that the PSU is the problem. How did you connect the fan? I'd look closer at that, and, if you can, try plugging the fan into a different 3 pin connector. That will give you a better idea if its the fan or PSU.
Re: System Fan reporting High RPM
Without RPM sensing there is no way for Speed Fan to control the fan. As far as burning out the Sys fan header, I suppose it is possible if the fan pulls too much current. Don't know if .4 amps is too much for that fan header or not.
Re: System Fan reporting High RPM
You can depending on the type of control. With most smaller constant speed systems, there are usually 4 wires. one each for supply to the outdoor fan, compressor and reversing valve and a neutral.
These are all switched at the relay board in the head unit and CAN be swapped for similar capacity units of different brands.
