Connect a Playstation 3 to the Internet using Coax and MoCA Technology
Following are the simple steps required to connect your Playstation 3 to the Internet using the coax cables in your home.
- Get one MoCA Network Adapter.
- Find your Broadband Modem/Router.
- Plug one end of the 1st Ethernet Cable into the Ethernet Network port on the front of the 1st MoCA Network Adapter.
- Plug the other end of the Ethernet Cable into an OPEN Ethernet Port on your Modem/Router. An Ethernet port looks similar to a phone port but is slightly larger.
- Locate the coaxial cable connected to the wall outlet in the room with the Broadband Modem/Router. Connect the coaxial cable to the COAX NETWORK port on the back of the unit.
- Plug one end of the power adapter into the Power port on the back of the MoCA Network Adapter. Then plug the other end into an electrical wall outlet.
- Plug one end of the 2nd Ethernet Cable into the Ethernet Network port on the front of the 2nd MoCA Network Adapter.
- Plug the other end of the Ethernet Cable into the Ethernet Port on the Sony Playstation 3.
- Locate the coaxial cable connected to your Set Top Box or Television. Make sure this cable is connected from your TV/Set top Box to the STB/TV port on the MoCA Network Adapter.
- Plug one end of the 2nd power adapter into the Power port on the back of the MoCA Network Adapter. Then plug the other end into an electrical wall outlet.
- Go to the Playstation 3 and select "Network Settings".
- Select "Internet Connection Settings"
- Select "Yes"
- Select "Easy".
- The Playstation 3 will detect the conection.
- Then click "X" to save the settings.
The Playstation 3 is now connected to the Internet.
