Changing welcome screen in XP
Hi, this is Windows XP computer. There is no problem in functionality or anything but due to some customization reasons I need to change the Welcome Screen of this computer. I searched on web and found few articles which says we can do this using third party tools but after trying those I found that it only changes the bootup screen. Few other articles says that we can do the same by editing the following registry key:
HKEY_USERS > Default > Control Panel > Desktop > Wallpaper Value > (changed this value to the location of my bitmap picture)
But after doing this as soon as the welcome screen comes, the bitmap also pops up which is not the one I want to do. So I’m here to know if there is any other way using which we can change the wallpaper of welcome screen. Thanks for your helps.
Re: Changing welcome screen in XP
There is a Software called Stardock which allows you to change the welcome screen image. You should try out the same. Apart from that, there are also some articles describing other ways of doing the same. You should check these out. Hope it helps.
This changes the "Logon Screen", not the "Welcome Screen":

This tutorial will show you how to customize the "Welcome Screen":

And this (FREE!) program, "LogonStudio" will do it all for you:

Thank you very much for the help JareD. Stardock's come a long ways since I was last there. Thanks for the reminder!
