Asus P5B-E motherboard shutdown problem
Hi,
I've just upgraded the bios on a new system Asus P5B-E,the problem is when windows start booting it says "Warning!!! USB Device over current status detected!!! unplug over current USB device!!! computer will restart in 20 seconds." Any recommendations and suggestions are appreciated.

1]Remove any front panel USB header plugs from MB or media card readers
2]Update BIOS
3]Go to Older BIOS rev.
4]Update USB drivers from Asus CD

Does this board have a jumper for "usb on while powered off"? What is the exact name and model number of this board?
Added: On some modern motherboards the USB ports remain powered even when the computer is turned off. The Asus P5W DH Deluxe does this.

It sounds like you are performing a CMOS reset each time. Is your power supply ok? Have you tried a different one, in case there's something wrong with it? It could also be a short of your motherboard against the case, with the motherboard being flexed when you connect something or close the case.
