Re: Audio Driver for Inte P965 Express Chipset not working
Try the manual installation method rather than installing it using the setup.exe, just go to device manager, and click on your audio device, then click update the driver, and then show the path of your cdrom's sound, it might work because that happened to me with a intel motherboard a year or so back, thats how i fixed it
Re: Audio Driver for Inte P965 Express Chipset not working
When you updated the audio drivers, did you use the intel version, or go to the audio chip's mfgrs site? It is probably a Realtek audio chip, you might want to try the latest drivers from their site. And make sure you remove the old ones completely before loading the new ones.

Drivers for standard ports (COM, LPT) are included in Windows and 3rd party drivers should not be required unless ports are non-standard (which I seriously doubt).
Check BIOS settings for ports and also ensure that there are no address conflicts with add-in cards (modem, sound card, NIC). Device Manager should tell you if there is an address conflict.
